Kelly Ripa’s nutritionist breaks down what ‘Live’ co-host eats in a day

Kelly Ripa’s nutritionist revealed the healthy diet that keeps the “Live” co-host strong and energized throughout the day — and it involves nonstop snacking.

“I’ve never met someone who is busier than Kelly. She is supermom. She is just amazing on the show,” Dr. Daryl Gioffre told E! News of Ripa, 53, in an interview published Sunday.

“She works out seven days a week, and she maintains this incredible strength eating lifestyle that I’ve taught her.”

Gioffre shared that Ripa — who shares three children with her husband, Mark Consuelos — is mindful when it comes to her food choices.

“Every time you’re hungry or you’re gonna put something in your body, it has to be something that is going to strengthen you from the inside out,” the dietician said, emphasizing the importance of nutritious options including greens, Healthy fats and fiber.

If that tactic is intimidating, Gioffre recommended that his clients add healthy foods to their daily diet as opposed to restricting certain ingredients from their personal menus.

“Just start with one thing, but master that one thing, commit to that one thing and do that one thing consistently,” he suggested.

“When you feel good enough that that’s part of your Lifestyle, you do it on a regular basis and it’s automatic, you don’t have to think about it,” he continued. “Then you can add the next thing and then the next thing.”

As an example, Gioffre recalled adding green juice to his daily regimen when he was struggling to cut sugar out of his diet.

Ripa has added several superfoods to her daily intake under the guidance of Gioffre’s expertise.

The morning show host begins her day with a glass of water mixed with a scoop of dehydrated greens from Gioffre’s brand, Alkamind. Gioffre said green juice offers the same health benefits, but he warned against the sugary versions and suggested using whole fruits like cucumber for hydration and green apples and pears for natural sweetness.

“You have to eat your greens,” the health expert said. “But when you get it in the form of a green juice, what’s happening is you’re getting all those nutrients into the greens and you’re getting a huge amount of greens in just eight-ounce servings.”

Ripa then enjoys a cup of coffee blended with grass-fed butter and Gioffre’s Acid-Kicking Coffee Alkalizer and won’t consume any food until after her show.

Gioffre said Ripa will have a snack of mashed green apple, a few tablespoons of almond butter and a teaspoon of cinnamon once filming is complete.

He revealed that she is a big snacker, though she noshes on Healthy options throughout the day.

“Instead of going for the unHealthy snack, she’s always prepared,” Gioffre shared, explaining that Ripa snacks on raw nuts throughout the day. “And that’s the big mantra: ‘Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.'”

For lunch, Ripa enjoys salad topped with microgreens, sprouts, avocado and raw nuts, while dinner is more or less a variation of that with an additional protein.

“She’ll add in some steamed vegetables or some sautéed vegetables or some grilled greens,” Gioffre said. “And she likes to have the vegetables in season because they’re just better for you. And then she’ll have a protein, and that could be grilled tofu or tahini or some fish protein.”

Ripa’s go-to dessert is the “Get Off Your Sugar” author’s recipe for avocado chocolate mousse — which is made with avocados, pure vanilla extract, raw cacao, dates and sea salt — or his fiber-filled chocolate chia pudding dish.

The “All My Children” alum winds down for the evening with a mug of Gioffre’s Acid-Kicking Detox Tea filled with turmeric, ginger, lemon and black pepper.

“It’s not about deprivation,” he clarified of Ripa’s diet. “It’s about moderation.”

Ripa’s strengthening nourishment plan coupled with an active lifestyle is how she maintains her rock-hard figure.

“I’ve never been a va-va-voom woman. I like to take AKT — which is cardio-based dance classes — about four to five days a week between 3 and 5 p.m. And I like to do SoulCycle on the weekends,” she told the Cut in 2019 of her exercise preferences.

“In the summer, I like to run in Central Park because I think it’s so gorgeous.”

Ripa’s hard work certainly pays off, as Consuelos, 52, has a history of proudly flaunting his wife’s fit frame on his social media.
