Jadon Sancho joins Borussia Dortmund on loan from Man Utd
Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of winger Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.
Sancho joins on a straight loan which does not include an option for the German side to make the move permanent.
"When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like coming home," Sancho said. "I know the club inside and out, I've always been very close with the fans here, and I've never lost contact with those in charge.
"I can’t wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play Football with a smile on my face, set up goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League."
United said in their own statement: "The England international of 23 caps leaves with our best wishes for the remainder of this season."
Sancho returns to the Bundesliga in the hope of reigniting a career which hit a major roadblock earlier this season when he clashed with United boss Erik ten Hag.
Dropped from the matchday squad for September's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, Sancho was accused of poor training levels, but the 23-year-old publicly challenged such claims and was banished from the first-team squad after refusing to apologise.
He has not played comPetitively since that clash but returns to Dortmund hopeful of rediscovering his best form. Sancho racked up 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 Games for the German side.
"Jadon is an absolute difference-maker and I’m looking forward to seeing him back in black and yellow soon," said Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl. "He knows this city, Signal Iduna Park, our fans and our club.
"Even though he hasn't played any comPetitive Games in the past few months, we are sure that he will quickly settle back in with us, get into top form and use his qualities to help us achieve our goals for the season."
