How much prize money does the winner get at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship?
The Wells Fargo Championship, the latest major event on the PGA Tour calendar, is underway at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina and winds up on Sunday, 12 May.
Defending champion, Wyndham Clark, will be looking for his second win of the year with the biggest names in the world of Golf in action with the exception of Scottie Scheffler who is awaiting the birth of his first child.
With his wife, Meredith Scheffler, yet to go into labor with the couple’s first child, Scheffler decide to sit out the tournament and is is the only eligible player for the limited-field event who intends to skip out the competition.
Expectations surrounding the invite only tournament are at an all-time high with 70 of the world’s top players in action at the signature elevated event, meaning it is a limited-field tournament with increased prize money and FedExCup points (700 points to the winner). The purse for the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship is $20 million (one of the highest on the tour), with $3.6 million going to the winner alone.
