Gwen Stefani wishes she made a “Sweet Escape” from her career while raising a family.

The No Doubt frontwoman admitted to Nylon in her Spring/Summer 2024 cover story, published Tuesday, that she “should have just been with” her sons — Kingston, 17, Zuma, 15, and Apollo, 10 — instead of working.

At the time, Stefani, 54, was “trying to please” her bandmates, Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young.

While “leaving her family” to write music, the “Hollaback Girl” singer said she felt like a “loser” if she “didn’t come home with a song.”

“I’d be like, ‘Oh my God … I didn’t have dinner with my familyand I didn’t write a song,'” she recalled to the magazine. “‘I wasted an entire day of my life trying to be in No Doubt again.’”

Stefani, who was married to Gavin Rossdale at the time, had “nothing left in” her while touring and working on the band’s 2012 album, “Push and Shove.”

She explained, “Things change when you have two babies. … I had no ideas. I had so much insecurity. I felt like — help!”

The L.A.M.B. designer acknowledged that in the time period after Kingston’s birth, she felt creatively “dead” — and left “everyone … disappointed” when they found out Zuma was on the way.

“I don’t think they would say that,” she said of her fellow band members. “No one’s going to be mad you’re having a baby. But while I was busy, they were kind of waiting.”

Stefani was with Gavin Rossdale at the time, but they split shortly after.

The band last performed together in 2015, with Stefani joking to Nylon that they “need to probably” go to therapy together.

“We have a lot of water under the bridge,” she said.

While the “Just a Girl” singer is reuniting with Dumont, Kanal and Young for Coachella this weekend, she and Rossdale, 58, had a less happy ending.

Stefani and the Bush frontman broke up in 2015 amid rumors he cheated with their nanny. They have co-parented their sons ever since.

The “Voice” coach moved on with Blake Shelton later that same year, and the pair got married in July 2021.

The couple live on the 47-year-old country singer’s farm in Oklahoma.
