Greetings and salutations! My name is Sanders and I was found in late April running on Rt. 6/10 when a nice RI State Trooper rescued me and let me sit in his patrol car. WOW, now, that was an adventure!

He called my friends over at PAC to let them know I was safe and waited for them to respond. I am a very sweet social type of guy who loves spending time with my peeps. I am seeking an active family who would enjoy taking me on walks and, oh did I mention I love car rides!!!

I just love getting my back and butt scratched and curled my body up against my people seeking more. My friends report that I am very social, wiggly and playful, I love my pets and treats. I like to flip toys up in the air and chase after them.

I am a big guy that could use some leash walking skills. Not to worry, I am a smart guy who will learn very fast. I might even be able to live with another dog with proper introductions. I really will make a fantastic family member (children over the age of 10 please). I can’t wait to begin my adventures with a new family to call my own.

If you can see me, I am still available! No phone calls please, everything is done online and we do need an application submitted and approved before scheduling a visit. We differ from other shelters by offering a one-on-one experience between you, our staff and the animal or Animals you’ve chosen to become a new family member! Please email [email protected]

About the Providence Animal Control Division

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the Health and safety of our residents and their Pets with progressive leadership and Education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all Animals.

As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents. To participate please send a message through our Facebook page at Providence Animal Care Center.
