Daniel Gafford, the center of the Dallas Mavericks (38-28), attempted to break Wilt Chamberlain’s record of 35 consecutive shots made in a Game time. However, Gafford fell short and made 33 shots during the Game against the Oklahoma City Thunder (45-20). Luka Doncic was absent from the Game due to injury.

Gafford’s attempt to score was just 31 seconds after tip-off when he recovered a rebound from a Dane Exum layup. Unfortunately, Gafford’s shot was fired over the rim after being disturbed by Chet Holmgren upon recovering the offensive glass.

After failing to score in two consecutive games, Gafford went on an impressive streak, scoring perfectly in five straight games against the Indiana Pacers (7/7, 16p), Miami Heat (5/5, 12p), Detroit Pistons (7/7, 17p), Chicago Bulls (9/9, 20p), and Golden State Warriors (5/5, 10p).

Wilt Chamberlain’s record will be unbeatable

Wilt Chamberlain set a record in 1967 that is almost impossible for any player to break. He achieved this record in just four games between February 17 and 28 of that year while playing for the Philadelphia Warriors. The streak began against the Cincinnati Royals, where he made 5 out of 6 shots and scored 15 points.

‘Wilt the Stilt’ was perfect in the Games against the St. Louis Hawks, making all 11 shots and scoring 22 points, and the Baltimore Bullets, making all 18 shots and scoring 42 points. However, the streak ended against the Royals, where he made 11 out of 14 shots and scored 28 points one week and a half after starting.
