Chelsea confirm appointment of Mauricio Pochettino
Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the club's new first-team head coach.
The ex-Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain manager has signed a two-year contract at the club, with Chelsea retaining the option for a further year.
Speaking to the club's official website after announcing the appointment, club owners Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, José E. Feliciano, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss said:
"The sporting team conducted a diligent and thoughtful process that the Board is proud of. We are delighted that Mauricio will be joining Chelsea. Mauricio is a world-class coach with an outstanding track record. We are all looking forward to having him on board."

Pochettino has long been expected to take over at Stamford Bridge after talks with ex-Bayern Munich manager collapsed in late April. 90min understands that Poch put pen to paper on his contract at Stamford Bridge on Sunday prior to the Blues' 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.
The Argentine manager takes charge of a club in crisis following a disastrous 2022/23 campaign. Despite spending around £500m on new players, Chelsea could only muster a 12th place finish in the Premier League and went through two permanent (Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter) and one caretaker manager (Frank Lampard) during the season.
Poch's first task at Stamford Bridge will be steadying the ship and also tying Mason Mount down to a long-term deal. The midfielder has been heavily linked with a move this summer. 90min recently reported that contract talks have stepped up in recent weeks due to Pochettino being a 'huge fan' of the player.
