Celtsarehere reported earlier this afternoon, Daizen Maeda could be out for the rest of the season after picking up a hamstring injury. Away from that big news, there is some more bad news and a bit of good news on the Celtic injury front.

Liam Scales has been ruled out of the St Mirren clash this weekend after picking up a knock. The Irishman will sit this one out but is expected to return to the squad pretty quickly. It means Stephen Welsh is likely to start alongside CCV in defence against the Buddies.

Elsewhere, Callum McGregor has trained all week, although Celtsarehere can confirm he hasn’t taken part in every minute of every session this week. On Thursday the Celtic captain only participated in a part of training. This could be precautionary but Brendan Rodgers believes the Celtic captain is getting stronger.

Luis Palma has come through the week unscathed and will be back in contention for a start. Given Daizen’s injury, the Honduran could go straight back into the starting XI on Saturday.

Reo Hatate played 60 minutes at Ibrox and Livingston the past two weeks and could get the full Game against St Mirren as his fitness improves.

Celtic are looking to go four points clear to make their rivals work to catch up with them. Nothing but a win will be good enough.
