Brendan Rodgers Makes “Best Version” Celtic Claim as he Previews Crucial Glasgow Derby
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has expressed confidence in his team’s form as they approach a pivotal match against Rangers, describing the current squad as the “best version” of the team during his tenure.
This statement follows Celtic’s impressive 3-0 victory over Hearts, a Game that Rodgers believes showcased the team peaking at the perfect moment.
With the Glasgow Derby looming, a win for Celtic could virtually secure their third consecutive Scottish Premiership title by putting them six points clear with only two Games remaining. Conversely, a victory for Rangers could level the points between the two arch-rivals, potentially deciding the championship on goal difference.
Rodgers, speaking to Celtic TV, stressed the significance of the team’s recent performance and overall readiness for the upcoming derby.
Rodgers’ confidence is bolstered by the squad’s improving Health and form, which seems to be converging at a crucial juncture. With another week of training ahead, he believes that Celtic will approach the derby in the best shape they’ve been all season.
“We’ll arrive into this weekend’s Game and this will probably be the best version of the team that I’ve had since I’ve been here.
“When I look at the number of injuries that we’ve had right the way though and the disruptions, then it felt like that last weekend was probably about there in terms of the player availability and where the team is at and in the terms of fitness wise as well.
“So, I think after another good week of work and concentration on the training field we’ll arrive into Saturday in a good place as we’ll have been all season.”
