Who can resist the charm of a wedding? Surrounded by friends and family, and indulging in delicious cake – it’s a celebration like no other! And this wedding, in particular, is sure to melt hearts. Rogers and Marge’s love story is a real-life fairy tale, with a twist of puppy love.

The Triangle Beagle Rescue played cupid by organizing this adorable wedding for the couple. Rogers, a tripod and hospice foster, popped the question to his girlfriend Marge, and she said yes! The two lovebirds tied the knot on June 9th, 2019, at the beautiful Compass Rose Brewery.

It was a day filled with love, laughter, and wagging tails as Rogers and Marge exchanged vows in front of their furry friends. It was truly a wedding to remember, celebrating the unconditional love between a man, a woman, and their beloved beagles.

Rogers found his way to Triangle Beagle Rescue after his previous shelter was flooded during Hurricane Florence. Upon his arrival, he underwent surgery to amputate his leg due to an old injury. Additionally, he was diagnosed with heartworms and began the necessary treatment for recovery.

During his time at the rescue, Rogers faced another challenge with unexplained blood in his urine. Despite visiting multiple veterinarians with inconclusive results, a visit to NC State Veterinary Hospital confirmed that Rogers had Transitional Cell Carcinoma in his urinary tract, a terminal illness.

Despite the heartbreaking news, Rogers has maintained a positive attitude and will continue to stay with his loving foster family until his final farewell. To make the most of his remaining time, his foster family has created a bucket list for him that includes car rides, puppuccinos, camping, and the highlight of all – marrying his best friend and fellow Triangle Beagle Rescue foster, Marge!

Rogers and Marge’s bond was evident from the start, as they were often seen together at adoption events and fundraisers. Their connection was undeniable, and Rogers always seemed at ease when Marge was by his side.

After proposing to Marge, the rescue quickly got to work planning a wedding ceremony for the pair. With invitations sent out, a cake ordered, and all the details in place, Rogers and Marge are set to tie the knot in June.

I had the privilege of working as a volunteer photographer for this wonderful group during their wedding. Capturing moments from their first glance to their walk down the aisle, to the symbolic exchange of collars and breaking a cookie, it was a truly magical day.
