Australian International The Next Goalkeeper To Be Linked With Celtic
Amid Joe Hart’s upcoming retirement, Celtic have inevitably been linked with several goalkeepers.
The summer transfer window is not underway for another few months but that hasn’t stopped the wheels of transfer Business from turning.
Already, Urgucan Cakir has been named as a potential target with the club having expressed their desire to start negotiations over a deal worth £7.5m.
Along with Cakir, Werder Bremen stopper Michael Zetterer has been linked but the latest name to emerge is that of Tom Glover.
According to FTBL, the Hoops are one of several clubs including Copenhagen, Rangers, and Newcastle United, who are chasing the signature of the 26-year-old.
Having spent time in the Spurs academy, Glover joined Middlesborough last summer after regularly turning out for Melbourne City in his homeland.
The Aussie international has made 20 appearances for the club this season and although he emerged as Michael Carrick’s first-choice between the sticks mid-season, a broken finger allowed for Seny Dieng to reclaim the gloves.
Glover went to the World Cup in Qatar with his country but given the fact he only joined Boro last summer, one wonders what the likelihood of a departure in a few months is.
Countless ‘keepers will continue to be linked with Celtic until Hart’s true replacement is eventually found.
