As the 2024 Solheim Cup brings Golf fans from around the world to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, many may wonder what it would actually take to play once, or even regularly on the pristine courses. The answer lies in the club’s membership options and, spoiler alert, it’s not just about dropping a fortune for green fees, though that’s certainly part of the equation. Privacy is important.

What does membership at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club cost?

While some of the many RTJG clubs have an abundance of information available about becoming a member, the host of the 2024 Solheim Cup is somewhat more elusive about what is in the public domain.

The par-72 course in Gainesville - which is just over a Tin Cup 7-iron from Washington DC (35 miles to be more precise) – sits on the shores of Lake Manassas and remains a very private affair. To consider the rather exclusive nature of the club, consider that when former US President Barack Obama, a very keen Golfer, had to vacate the White House after reaching the end of his eight years, he was reported to have joined up.

At the time that was reported, one of those inside the club anonymously told CNN that annual membership fees and dues totalled about $15,000, and that was back in 2017. It’s rumoured though that former presidents get some type of honorary membership, and fees could be waived.

Established in 1991, it was the venue of the first four Presidents Cups, from 1994 to 2005, and the member-owned club asks all guests to observe the established club policies while enjoying the impressive facilities. But how much does it cost today? Well, we’ve not been able to track down that figure quite yet but have put out a request to the club to find out... In the meantime, maybe just practice real hard and get yourself into one of the professional teams playing this magnificent course for free!
