Two Adelaide teens were over the Jetstar luggage limit when travelling home. So they tried to wear 6kg of clothes
Two Adelaide teens have gone viral for attempting to dress around Jetstar’s strict luggage limit, opening their suitcases in Melbourne airport and transferring as much of the weight as possible out - and onto themselves.
Adriana Ocampo and Emily Altamura, both 19, were flying home earlier this month when they realised their luggage weighed almost double Jetstar’s 7kg limit.

So the teens did what any savvy modern women would do and started pulling clothes from their luggage, putting them on over what they were already wearing.
Showing the process in a now-viral TikTok to her account, @feeling.lucki, Ocampo tried to control her laughter as she stuffed an iPad down her pants.
The pair showed their luggage open on the airport floor as they desperately tried to get the luggage weight down.
Unfortunately, the women were unlucky in the end when staff didn’t find their antics quite as entertaining as the internet did.
They were last on their flight after copping a dressing down.
“They kind of wanted us to fail,” Ocampo said. “I feel like they were happy when they caught us in the end.”
There is definitely room for improvement in their technique, the teen told 7NEWS.
“There’s a bit of a skill to it, I guess you can say,” Ocampo said.
“I felt like the girl, she eats the bubblegum and she blows up.
“That’s exactly how I felt.”
“I could not move my arms or my legs,” Altamura said.
“I just could feel all these layers. When I moved, they all moved with me.”
For what it’s worth, Ocampo said staff were helpful when it came tips for their future travels.
“They were actually giving us advice for next time,” Ocampo said.
“You know ‘oh next time bring a pillow case and stuff that’.”
While it sees the funny side, Jetstar said carry-on limits are there for a reason.
The airline said the limit is an important safety measure and ensures all passengers have enough room.
The teens paid the $65 excess baggage fee, arriving home heavier but with their wallets lighter.
