The Chicago White Sox will host the Detroit Tigers for Game two of their divisional series this Saturday from Guaranteed Rate Field. Chicago held Detroit scoreless in Game one and won by three, 3-0.

Tigers Betting Preview

Detroit moved to 26-29 after falling to Chicago. The Tigers couldn’t get anything going last night, and they’ll look to respond Saturday after being held scoreless. The Detroit offense is scoring 2.72 runs per Game, while batting .216, with a .281 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.64 ERA, with a 1.21 WHIP. Riley Greene, the Tigers’ leading batter, absence was felt in Game one, and they may struggle again without him in Game two.  Javy Baez tripled in Game one, and he leads Detroit in RBI (27).

Michael Lorenzen (2-2, 3.50 ERA, 35 Ks) will get the call for Detroit. The ninth-year righty pitched pretty well in his start against Chicago last week, tossing 6.2 innings of shutout ball. Lorenzen performed well in May, delivering four quality starts in five appearances, and he might be able to keep things going here.

White Sox Betting Preview

Chicago enters at 24-35 after defeating Detroit. The White Sox got revenge for last weekend in Game one, and they’ll look to double down here. The Chicago offense is 4.72 scoring runs per Game, while batting .238, with a .306 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 5.72 ERA, with a 1.21 WHIP. Andrew Vaughn had multiple hits in all three Games against the Angels, and he leads the Sox in RBI (39). Luis Robert Jr. Was gutless in Game one, but he’s first on the team in homers (13) and runs scored (37). Andrew Benintendi has a hit in three of the last four Games, and he leads the team in 267 (.272)

Dylan Cease (3-3, 3.48 ERA, 68 Ks) will get the call for Chicago. The fifth-year ace found trouble in his last appearance, allowing four runs in four innings in Detroit to the Tigers. Cease delivered three straight quality starts prior to last week’s outing, and he’ll likely find better results against them in the Southside this weekend.

Detroit vs Chicago Trends

Detroit is 27-24 against the spread this season, with a 25-22-1 O/U record. Chicago is 25-21 ATS this year, with a 23-22-1 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

Chicago controlled the entire contest yesterday, and with Dylan Cease set to go in Game two, I like leaning on a strong performance from him here. Riley Greene’s absence should play a factor again for a limited Tigers’ team, and if the Sox bats’ can capitalize on both factors, they should be able open June with consecutive wins. Back Chicago in Game two.
