The Philadelphia Phillies and the Detroit Tigers will collide in interleague play this Monday from Citizens Bank Park.

Tigers Betting Preview

Detroit moved to 26-31 after being swept by Chicago. The Tigers combined for three runs in three Games, and they’ll see better success in Philly here. The Detroit offense is scoring 2.72 runs per Game, while batting .227, with a .304 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.37 ERA, with a 1.24 WHIP. The Tigers will still be without their best bat in Riley Greene, and it showed in the White Sox Series. Zach McKinstry has a hit in seven of the last nine Games, and he’s batting a respectable .279.

Joey Wentz (1-5, 7.28 ERA, 30 Ks) will get the ball for Detroit. The second-year lefty had another short outing last week against Texas, striking out five in 4.1 innings pitched. Wentz didn’t have a pretty month of May, and the Phillies’ lineup might end up having their way Monday.

Phillies Betting Preview

Philadelphia moved to 27-32 after taking two of three from Washington. The Phillies poured it on the Nats in their series finale, and they’ll look to start this home stand strong Monday. The Philadelphia offense is scoring 3.68 runs per Game, while batting .255, with a .318 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.61 ERA, with a 1.33 WHIP. Nick Castellanos has three or more hits in three of the last four Games, and he leads Philly in batting (.310) with 34 RBI.. Bryce Harper and Trea Turner both doubled against their former team twice last week, and the former is hitting .300 since returning in May.

Aaron Nola (4-4, 4.70 ERA, 17 Ks) will take the hill for Philadelphia. The longtime Phillies pitcher struggled in Queens against the Mets last week, allowing four runs in six innings to take his fourth loss of the season. Nola cooled off a bit after a strong start in April, but he remains a reliable innings eater for the Phils. Nola has also won his last two starts at home.

Detroit vs Philadelphia Trends

Detroit is 30-27 against the spread this season, with a 29-27-1 O/U record. Philadelphia is 23-36 ATS this year, with a 25-30-4 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

Philly has a chance to creep back closer to .500 by capitalizing on this series here with Detroit. The Phillies will trot out their longest tenured arm in Aaron Nola, while Tigers will be giving Joey Wentz the ball, and that sways in the hosts favor. Wentz has shown little resistance this season, and this productive Phillies lineup should find ways to produce off of him. Back Philadelphia for Game one, and patch it with Pittsburgh for a PA Parlay.
