An upcoming expansion pack for The Sims 4 is aiming to make your simulated family as complicated as your real one. The Growing Together DLC is adding family dynamics to the life-simulator on March 16. This means that you can establish specific interrelationships between your Simmish family. So, if you have always wanted to make your Sims father as distant as your real one, then this is for you.

A few screengrabs of the DLC’s official Gameplay trailer have been posted to the official Reddit for the EA Game. These offer a glimpse of the type of dynamics you can establish. One screengrab shows the Create-a-Sim menu for a new sister. The menu now includes a drop-down offering four options for their dynamic: Close, distant, difficult, and jokesters.

Just as with real family dynamics, the type of relationship between two Sims may change. This could be because of their interactions with one another, or any milestones achieved together. Sadly, no matter how many milestones I went through, like losing those baby teeth or learning to ride a bike, I could never get my siblings to really open-up to me and better our dynamics. Still, it’s nice that my Sims have hope for a better relationship with each other.

The Sims 4 has been making headlines recently by going free-to-play. While many worried this would impact the number of expansions and updates released, it clearly hasn’t slowed the Game down in any way, as new content has been added to the simulation Game pretty regularly.

It recently incorporated several inclusive features for both trans and disabled players. They include hearing aids, surgical scars, binders, and more. Of course, this caused quite a stir with certain news outlets, because that's definitely the thing they should be upset about right now. You know, a feature that is completely optional and brings a greater level of inclusivity to a Game, not that pesky war in Ukraine or that clearly normal Ohio train wreck.
