Taylor Swift has real-life princess moment in stunning gold and white gown as she heads up the stars at the Winter Whites

She famously sang ‘You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess’ in her hit song Love Story.

Making sure the stunning dress took centre stage the American star wore her hair in old-school Hollywood curls and pushed off her face in an elegant chignon.

Completing her perfect look she added a dash of red lipstick, while her eyes were accentuated with dark eye-liner creating a feline-like quality.

As temperatures plummeted to a bone-chilling 3C – 37F – Taylor seemed unconcerned as she made her way into the transformed Kensington Gardens.

And once she had walked the blue carPet with had been lined with fir trees sprinkled with snow, she wasted no time in meeting William, showing off her Jenny Packham clutch as she did so

Prince William clearly appeared  to be on his best behaviour with the Trouble star, who was heard saying ‘awesome’ as they ended their brief chat.

The Prince was attending without his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, who was minding their four-month-old son, Prince George, in their 20-room apartment next door.

While Katherine wasn’t attending there was still plenty of glamour as the stars walked through a glittering Arctic tundra into the Georgian palace’s historic State Apartments for a champagne reception.
