Star Wars Jedi: Survivor New Character Confirmed To Be From The High Republic Era

The new Star Wars Jedi: Survivor story trailer has confirmed one popular fan theory about the new Jedi character, who we first saw waking up from the Bacta tank stasis in the Game's reveal teaser. This hero belongs to the long-gone High Republic era - a period of peace and prosperity hundreds of years before the Empire.

Star Wars fans were suspecting this Mysterious Jedi could have stayed in the stasis pod for quite some time, unaware of what was happening around him. This speculation grew stronger after the Game's second trailer dropped in January, where this strange figure talked about his betrayal, and can be seen wearing an elegant golden robe. Jedi: Survivor's last trailer features a more detailed look at his clothes, where a clear emblem of the High Republic can be seen (as pointed out by Redditor NoraaTheExploraa).

This era of the Star Wars universe has been explored only in books and comics so far. However, upcoming animated series Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, currently scheduled to air on May 4, will also offer more information about this intriguing setting.

Aside from his robe, a more direct hint of his origins came from the character's quote: “How could you let this galaxy fall to this unworthy machine of an Empire?” Clearly, he's not happy to wake up in a completely different landscape of the galaxy and is blaming Cal Kestis, and the wider Jedi order, for their fall.

As of now, we know very little about who this character is, and what his motives will be. Considering he has shown up in all Jedi: Survivor trailers to date, most likely, he will play a large role in the Game's story.

It's even possible that the Game's very name, Jedi Survivor, refers not to Cal, as we previously guessed, but to this new figure. In any case, the character is adding more mystery, so it'll be fun to learn more about him and his time during the High Republic era.
