Sonic Frontiers Beats God Of War And Horizon For Best Action Adventure Game
In a rather surprising turn of events, Sonic Frontiers has won big at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards, beating out beloved titles such as God of War: Ragnarok and Horizon: Forbidden West. The winners of the various awards were selected by fans who voted for their favorite Games in 21 different categories.
The announcements were made earlier today on March 18, 2023. Sonic Frontiers was recognized as the Best Action Adventure Game of 2022 and the developer, Sonic Team, is clearly overjoyed at receiving such a prestigious award. The Game has been highly praised for its open world design, stunning graphics, and engaging Gameplay.
The game's success at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the people at Sonic Team who have been working on the game for several years. The team has been committed to creating a game that not only pays homage to the classic Sonic games but also brings the series into the modern era. The other winners at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards include Elden Ring which received the highly coveted Game of the Year award.
“I've never had a chance to win an award like this before, so I'm grateful just to be nominated,” Sound Director Tomoya Ohtani said on Twitter. “Thank you so much to everyone who voted.” Designer and Director Morio Kishimoto added that “earlier, we received the Action Adventure Category Grand Prize at the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2022! We received the support of many people in Japan and thanks to all of you, we were able to receive the Japan Game Awards Future Category Award before the release and this award after the release.”
The Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards have been described as a stunning success, showcasing some of the best games of 2022. Sonic Frontiers receiving the award over God of War: Ragnarok and Horizon: Forbidden West remains unexpected, but is a testament to the game's quality and the dedication of Sonic Team. With so much more to come in 2023, it will be interesting to see which games will be crowned the winners at next year's awards.
