The Perth club recently sacked Craig Levein and are now hunting for a new manager as they aim to stay in the top flight for another year.

It hasn’t been the best start to the campaign for St. Johnstone, who have won just one out of their six league Games so far.

They were on the verge of their first victory since the beginning of August at the weekend, but Ross County scored twice in the dying embers to secure a 3-3 draw in the Highlands.

Set to face Celtic at the weekend, things aren’t looking entirely positive for the McDiarmid Park side.

In their new manager, though, they do want someone who plays an eye-pleasing, attacking style of Football.

And per RecordSport, former Celt Brown is one of several names being considered. Aberdeen’s Peter Leven and Tiernan Lynch of Larne are a few others who have been mentioned alongside the Ayr boss, who has the Honest Men playing some nice stuff at the start of the new season.

Indeed, Ayr currently sit at the top the Scottish Championship, having not yet lost a league Game this campaign.

It remains to be seen whether the 39-year-old would move on from Somerset Park, but Saints want their new boss in soon.

The club’s board will meet today to narrow down their options, with interviews expected to start later in the week.

Brown getting a top-flight would be intriguing, and give Celtic fans a good indicator of where he is at in his managerial career.
