Scarlet & Violet's New Pokemon Can Be Traded To Players Without DLC
2023 is going to be a big year for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. While some of you might argue there are issues that need to be fixed before Game Freak focuses on what's next, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero was announced last month. DLC that will introduce lots of new Pokemon, and it turns out they can be traded with people who haven't bought the DLC.
That's right, even if you don't buy the DLC, the first part of which will roll out this fall, it will still technically be possible to keep your growing Pokedex up to date. Confirmed by Serebii's Joe Merrick, how Scarlet & Violet's DLC will work when it comes to playing with others will follow in the footsteps of Sword & Shield.
Not only will you be able to trade Pokemon with players who haven't bought the DLC, but you'll also be able to raid and battle with them too. Non-DLC-owning trainers will also be able to join you in the Union Circle, but that's where their privileges come to an end. If you don't own the DLC, you will not be able to visit specific areas in the Union Circle, even if you're with a trainer who has bought the additional content.
As for which Pokemon will be added to Scarlet & Violet later this year, that is yet to be officially confirmed. While a few of the brand new Pokemon that will be introduced have been shown off, the list of returning Pokemon is being kept under wraps. An unofficial list has leaked suggesting as many as 230 Pokemon from previous Games will be added to Paldea.
One of the new Pokemon being added via DLC will be Terapagos. Nothing much other than how it looks has been revealed about Terapagos, but some of you have already convinced yourselves it appears to be the exact same shape as Paldea itself.
