The New York Yankees will host the Boston Red Sox for Game two of their divisional series this Saturday in the Bronx at Yankee Stadium. Boston took Game one in a well-pitched contest, 3-2.

Red Sox Betting Preview

Boston moved to 32-32 after defeating New York. The Red Sox jumped back to .500 after stealing one from the Yanks last nite, and they’ll look to double down here Saturday.  The Boston offense is 4.18 scoring runs per Game, while batting .258, with a .340 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.89 ERA, with a 1.34 WHIP. Alex Verdugo collected multiple hits in the Game one victory, and he leads the team in hits (68) and runs (42). Rafael Devers went deep in the Bronx last night to bring his team-leads to 14 home runs and 51 RBI. Masataka Yoshida has recorded a hit in eight of the last ten Games, he’s leading Boston in batting (.309), with 33 RBI.

Tanner Houck (3-5, 5.48 ERA, 38 Ks) will get the ball for Boston. The fourth-year pitcher has followed up his best outing of the season with a pair of losses to Arizona and Tampa. Houck allowed four runs in both outings, and that’s been the norm for him this season, as he’s allowed three runs or more in seven of his last eight starts.

Yankees Betting Preview

New York moved to 36-26 after falling to Chicago. The Yankees will 7look to avenge a Game one loss here, as a different, yet much more familiar group of Sox is set to visit this weekend. The New York offense is scoring 3.92 runs per Game, while batting .239, with a .313 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.87 ERA, with a 1.25 WHIP. Aaron Judge’s absence felt a bit glaring last night, as the Yanks left multiple runs on the base pads, and they’ll need more from recently returning star Giancarlo Stanton here. Stanton has collected a hit in three of five Games since coming back, including a home run in Los Angeles. Anthony Rizzo’s recent skid at the plate has hindered as well, as the former Cub is hitless through his last five Games. Rizzo still leads the team in hits (63), with splits of .273/11/32.

Domingo German (3-3, 3.69 ERA, 59 Ks) will get the home start for New York. The sixth-year righty showed up big in Los Angeles last weekend, striking out six over 6.2 innings, while holding the Dodgers to just one run. German has allowed two runs or less in four of his last five full outings, and he has a good chance to keep things going in his first home start in nearly a month.

Boston vs New York Trends

Boston is 23-37 against the spread this season, with a 27-32-1 O/U record. New York is 25-34 ATS this year, with a 32-24-3 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

At some point, things will begin to click for the Yankees again, as they’re too talented to underwhelm, even without their best bat. Game two against a vulnerable Tanner Houck in primetime gives them a prime opportunity to do that, and there should be a sense of urgency in the clubhouse to go out and get one on Saturday night. The Sox have endured their own share of struggles at the plate, and Domingo German is in good spot to get New York back into the win column. Back the Yankees in the Bronx this Saturday.
