The San Francisco Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates meet Tuesday in MLB action from PNC Park. Here’s a Pittsburgh Pirates vs San Francisco Giants prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

San Francisco Giants Betting Preview

The Giants took on the Colorado Rockies in their weekend series. San Francisco did well in that one, notching a three-game sweep. The Giants won 10-5 Friday, 14-4 in game two and 4-1 in the finale. On Sunday San Francisco’s Heliot Ramos managed a solo homer, and starter Jordan Hicks went 5.0 innings with one earned on three hits and one walk.

For the Tuesday starting pitcher role the Giants will send out Logan Webb. This year Webb is 4-4 with a 3.03 ERA in 10 starts. He’s got 47 Ks in 59.1 innings. Webb is 46-36 with a 3.37 ERA in 123 Games (120 starts).

Pittsburgh Pirates Betting Preview

Over on the Pirates’ side, they played a four-game series versus the Chicago Cubs over the weekend. Pittsburgh won the first pair 5-4 and 9-3, then took a 1-0 loss on Saturday. In the Sunday finale the Pirates managed a 3-2 win to take the series. Jack Suwinski had a solo home run in the victory. Mitch Keller went 6.0 innings with two earned in the start.

It’ll be Martin Perez in the starting role for the Tuesday matchup with the Giants. This year across nine starts Perez is 1-3 with a 4.86 ERA and 40 Ks in 50.0 innings. Perez is 86-84 with a 4.45 ERA in 297 Games (252 starts).

Pittsburgh Pirates vs San Francisco Giants Prediction

I’ll stay with the Giants. Webb had a spotty start against Philadelphia on May 5, going 4.0 innings with four earned runs on seven hits and two walks. Webb has done much better in his last pair however, with just two earned runs in 13.0 innings. As for Perez, he’s coming off nine earned runs in 5.0 innings versus Milwaukee back on May 15.

In each of the last four games, the Giants have scored four or more runs—including 10 or more in two of those. If San Francisco’s offense can remain opportunistic here they’ll be in good shape for a W.
