Paulo Bernardo Books in Exciting Summer 2025 Plans
Celtic midfielder Paulo Bernardo has booked some exciting plans for next summer after scoring for Portugal under-21s last night.
The 22-year-old netted yet again for his nation in their 3-1 win away to the Faroe Islands, which secured their place at next summer’s U21 European Championships.
With a Game to spare, Portugal have booked their ticket to Slovakia for the prestigious youth tournament, which runs from June 12th to June 29th 2025. England, Germany, Ukraine, Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands, and hosts Slovakia have also secured qualification.
The comPetition, which initially starts with four groups of four, features 16 teams. The winners and runners-up from each section subsequently advance to the quarter-finals.
It remains to be seen who Portugal will face in their group, with eight teams still to qualify.
Bernardo will relish the opportunity to captain his country at a major tournament, albeit at youth level.
He will aim to build on a well-founded start to the season at Celtic and put himself in good stead when he and his international teaMMAtes – one of whom is ex-Rangers flop Fabio Silva – fly out to Slovakia next June.
Impressing at the U21 Euros will be high on Bernardo’s agenda as he aims to knock on the door of Roberto Martinez’s senior team.
