The Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets meet Saturday in MLB action from London Stadium. Here’s a NY Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction. This will be the first installment in a two-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.
Philadelphia Phillies Betting Preview
The Phillies played well against the Milwaukee Brewers in their last series. Philadelphia managed a sweep in those three Games, taking wins 3-1, 2-1 and 2-0. In the Wednesday victory, Phillies starter Aaron Nola finished with 7.0 clean frames, two hits, no walks and five strikeouts.
For the Saturday starting pitcher role the Phillies will send out Ranger Suarez. This year Suarez is 9-1 with a 1.70 ERA in 12 starts. He’s got 79 Ks in 74.0 innings total. Suarez is 38-22 with a 3.17 ERA in 146 career games (78 starts).
New York Mets Betting Preview
Over on the Mets’ side, they also played well in their last series, notching a similar sweep against the Washington Nationals. New York won those Games 8-7, 6-3 and 9-1. In the Game three victory, New York’s Luis Severino was great on 8.0 innings, one earned, seven hits, no walks and four strikeouts.
It’ll be Sean Manaea in the starting pitcher role for the Mets on Saturday. So far this year Manaea is 3-2 with a 3.63 ERA in 11 starts. He’s got 57 Ks in 57.0 innings total. Manaea is 68-58 with a 4.08 ERA in 207 career games (177 starts).

NY Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction
I’ll probably lean toward the Phillies. I could go either way here, though. Suarez left his last start on June 1 in the second inning after being hit in the left hand by a comebacker. The X-rays turned out negative however, so he should be fine for Saturday. Suarez did give up four earned in 6.0 frames versus the Rockies on May 26 though, so he’s got some bouncing back to do. As for Manaea, he gave up five earned in 5.2 innings during a loss to the Diamondbacks his last time up.
New York’s offense has generated 23 runs in the last three Games and they’ve scored four or more runs in six straight outings. Philadelphia is going to have to keep the clamps down in order to hold back the Mets bats. Suarez should be up for it, though.
