The Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets meet Monday in MLB action from Citi Field. Here’s a NY Mets vs LA Dodgers Prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.
Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview
The Dodgers played the Cincinnati Reds in their weekend series. Los Angeles took losses in the first two installments of that set, falling 9-6 and 3-1. In the Sunday finale, Los Angeles managed to fall again, this time 4-1. Starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto gave up four earned in 5.0 innings on six hits and two walks.
As starter for Monday’s Game the Dodgers are sending out Gavin Stone. This year Stone is 4-2 with a 3.60 ERA in nine starts. He’s got 34 Ks in 50.0 innings. Stone is 5-3 with a 5.67 ERA in 17 career Games (13 starts).
New York Mets Betting Preview
Over on the Mets’ side, they took on the San Francisco Giants over the weekend. New York similarly lost the first two Games of that series, dropping 8-7 and 7-2. In the Sunday finale the Mets eked out a 4-3 victory with three runs in the bottom of the ninth. Harrison Bader was responsible for two hits and three RBI along the way.
It’ll be Tylor Megill in the starting pitcher role for the Mets on Monday. This year Megill is 0-2 over two starts with a 3.00 ERA and 11 Ks in 9.0 total innings. Megill is 17-18 with a 4.66 ERA in 60 career Games (54 starts).

NY Mets vs LA Dodgers Prediction
I might take a stab on the Mets. Probably not touching this one in reality, though. Megill hasn’t been too bad in his two appearances so far, and he should be able to hold things together while he’s out there. In his latest outing, Megill went 5.0 innings in a loss to the Guardians with two earned on four hits and two walks. He’ll need some backup from the bats on Monday.
In their Sunday finale the Mets got a walk-off hit from Omar Narvaez that capped their comeback. The pitching was solid all around, as just two pitchers (Sean Manaea and Adrian Houser) took the mound. New York’s arms should be rested and ready for Monday’s opener.
