Last night was a disaster for Gordon Hayward. He played 28 minutes in a 31-point beatdown by the Milwaukee Bucks and registered the worst +/- of anyone – -31, to be exact. We’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that rust played a factor, as that was his first Game back in action in five days. That doesn’t mean we won’t fade him tonight. Hayward and the Hornets will take on the slow-paced, defensive-minded New York Knicks, coming off back-to-back wins.

When I say the “slow-paced Knicks,” I mean it. They rank as the slowest team in terms of pace in the league but have a top 10 defensive rating. The Knicks have question marks on the wing, as R.J. Barrett and Quentin Grimes are questionable for tonight. That could be a massive blow to the defense, but we’ll bank on one of two suiting up and giving Hayward problems on the perimeter. Even so, Josh Hart is one of the best plug-in guys in the league, and Hayward was so abysmal last night as he shot 1/9 from the field and looked lost. We’ll gladly take the under on his points + rebounds + assists against a daunting defense, and a number that he hasn’t come close to his last two Games played – one being against the Knicks.
