The Kansas City Royals and the Minnesota Twins meet Wednesday in MLB action from Target Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Minnesota Twins vs Kansas City Royals Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Kansas City Royals will send out Seth Lugo here and Lugo is 8-1 with a 1.74 ERA and 61 strikeouts this season. In his career, Lugo is 0-0 with a 1.59 ERA and 11 strikeouts against Minnesota. The Minnesota Twins will send out Bailey Ober here and Ober is 5-2 with a 4.33 ERA and 54 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against Kansas City, Ober is 0-3 with a 9.95 ERA and 20 strikeouts.

Kansas City Royals Recap

The Kansas City Royals will be out to bounce back from a 4-2 loss in Tuesday’s matchup to put themselves in a position where they can earn a series split at best in this set, putting their run of series wins against teams like the Tigers and A’s in jeopardy after splitting with the Rays in a rain-shortened series over the weekend.

Royals Still Solid At The Dish

Bobby Witt Jr. leads the Royals with 67 hits including 9 home runs, 36 RBIs and team-highs of 6 triples and 15 RBIs with 16 stolen bases. Salvador Perez also has a team-high 9 home runs with 39 RBIs and 12 doubles. Nelson Velazquez also has a team-high 49 strikeouts while Maikel Garcia has 5 home runs, 34 RBIs and 13 stolen bases along with 3 triples and 12 doubles this season. Vinnie Pasquantino has 13 doubles with 5 homers and 33 RBIs of his own on the year.

Why the Kansas City Royals will win

  • The Royals have won three of their last four games as road underdogs against American League opponents following a loss.
  • The Twins have lost nine of their last 11 night games against AL Central opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Twins have failed to cover the run line in 12 of their last 13 home games against AL Central opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Royals have covered the run line in each of their last six games as underdogs against American League opponents following a loss.
  • The Twins have trailed after 5 innings in three of their last four games as favorites against AL Central opponents.
  • The Twins have trailed after 3 innings in three of their last four games as favorites against AL Central opponents.

Minnesota Twins Recap

The Minnesota Twins will try to push ahead and win the series after taking the first two Games of the set following Tuesday’s win. The win meant the Twins will at least get a split from the series and have a chance to win the set and add to series wins over the Rangers and Nationals in the last week and a half.

Twins Drumming Up Offense In Wins

Willi Castro leads the Twins at the dish with 45 hits including 11 doubles and 3 triples as well as 16 RBIs and 7 stolen bases. Ryan Jeffers has a team-high 10 home runs, 33 RBIs and 13 doubles with a .252 batting average and .335 OBP. Carlos Santana has 7 home runs with 22 RBIs while Edouard Julien also has 7 home runs, 17 RBIs and 6 stolen bases but also has a team-high 62 strikeouts as well this season.

Why the Minnesota Twins will win

  • The Royals have lost 15 of their last 16 games at Target Field.
  • The Twins have won 15 of their last 16 home games against the Royals.
  • The Twins have covered the run line in seven of their last eight night games against the Royals following a win.
  • The Royals have failed to cover the run line in each of their last seven Wednesday games at Target Field.
  • The Twins have led after 5 innings in each of their last 13 night games against the Royals at Target Field.
  • The Royals have trailed after 3 innings in each of their last four games at Target Field.

Minnesota Twins vs Kansas City Royals Prediction

I’m on the Royals here. I know the first two Games of the set haven’t necessarily gone to plan for the Royals, but Lugo’s been one of the best arms KC has had this season and that has especially been the case when he has been on the road. Bailey Ober’s had little success against the Royals going back a couple of seasons now and I just don’t feel like backing him against this Kansas City lineup. Give me the Royals.
