Magic: The Gathering Players Raise Over $125,000 For Trans Lifeline

It's already tough enough just being trans, but it's especially bad in the United States where there are currently over 300 pieces of anti-trans legislation being considered by state and local governments. That's why it's more important than ever to support Trans charities and especially Trans Lifeline, an organization that operates a 24-hour crisis hotline for trans youths

That's where Tolarian Community College comes in. The Magic: The Gathering content creators kicked off a fundraising drive yesterday at noon, and in less than 24 hours, they raised over $100,000 for Trans Lifeline. The overwhelming support for the drive has been absolutely breathtaking with the Magic community all coming together to give whatever they can for this worthy cause.

Can't give money? That's fine--give prizes. Tolarian Community College is accepting gifts from individuals and organizations to incentivize donations through a prize raffle. The prize pool as of the time of this writing is absolutely enormous, with everything from personal coaching sessions with real Magic professionals to boxes upon boxes of Magic cards from recent sets.

And by recent, I mean really recent. donated four Compleat Edition Bundles of Phyrexia: All Will Be One. Beadle and Grimm's donated two Kamigawa Silver Editions, and someone donated two Double Masters Collector booster boxes. Someone even donated a March of the Machine bundle, and that's not out until April.

There are plenty more prizes up for grabs, including a foil judge Demonic Tutor, a Here Be Dragons Secret Lair, and even a foil and signed Elesh Norn. There's some stuff here that you will never be able to find outside of a surprise eBay sale, and certainly not for the low price of a donation to the Trans Lifeline.

Head to the Trans Lifeline donation page to give and for your chance to win one of these awesome prizes. The fundraising drive is currently at over $127,000 as of the time of this writing with a goal of $175,000, but the Magic community has just one day left to make it happen.
