The two division leaders in the Western Conference meet for a tape-measuring tilt, with the Winnipeg Jets visiting the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena on Friday, November 29.

My Jets vs. Golden Knights predictions expect Winnipeg winger Nikolaj Ehlers to have improved puck luck in Sin City on Black Friday.

My Jets analysis
Nikolaj Ehlers is second in both shots (9.81) and attempts (17.82) per 60 minutes while logging the fourth-most minutes per Game (15:57) among forwards on the Winnipeg Jets.

He’s skating with the No. 1 power-play unit and is also third in shots (11.66) and second in attempts (22.42) per 60 with the man advantage.

I’m particularly drawn to this Ehlers prop because he’s recorded two or fewer shots in six of the past eight Games with just 18 total. Additionally, nine of those shots have come in the two Games he’s gone Over the number.

He’s actually shooting the puck more, though.

Ehlers has registered 19.35 attempts per 60 minutes during the eight-Game stretch compared to just 16.98 per 60 across 15 Games to start the year. The difference has been converting 62.7% of his attempts into shots to start the campaign compared to just 42.9% of his attempts resulting in shots across the past eight. 

With the 28-year-old winger also in the 91st percentile of forwards in shots on goal, per NHL Edge, I’m anticipating improved shooting efficiency beginning Friday.  

There’s nothing scary about a date with the Vegas Golden Knights, either.

The Golden Knights sport a 26th-ranked 46.4 Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5, and Vegas has been even worse of late with a 28th-ranked 45.8% mark across its past five games.

Ehlers sports a team-high 54.3 CF% at 5-on-5 over the past three years, too, so he's set to tilt the ice in his favor Friday.

I’m not surprised to see Winnipeg take early action on the moneyline. Vegas opened as a -112 home favorite at Pinnacle, but the odds have flipped, and Winnipeg is trading at -113 as of Friday morning.

The Golden Knights have the highest PDO in the NHL across their past five games, and in addition to their noted poor possession numbers at 5-on-5, they don’t impress with a 24th-ranked 47.0 expected goals percentage, either.

There has also been a huge move to the Under in this Game. Pinnacle opened at 6.0 (-118/+103), and there has been a similar odds flip. The 6.0 total is trading with a -100/-113 split as of Friday morning.

Winnipeg allowing the second-fewest goals per Game (2.43) and playing to the Under in four straight reinforces the line movement.
