In the Arena – Yarrow Thorne, The Avenue Concept
Each week Joe Paolino Jr. interviews leaders in Rhode Island on In the Arena. This week he talks with Yarrow Thorne, the CEO and founder of The Avenue Concept.
The Avenue Concept works with public art, particularly in downtown Providence, supporting the creative sector by growing the creative economy. They have created art on Custom House – 150 foot wall of an Indigenous artist most will be familiar with. There are also other art murals around Providence. 13 artists are featured with 2 artists working now in real time. Thorne discusses how public art can open opportunities, prevent vandalism and give artists an in-the-streets artistic experience.
Be sure to listen to In the Arena on ABC6 every Sunday at 7am.
