“You’re telling me for 40 years I’ve been fighting the fizz, and I could’ve been doing this? Ain’t no way,” he said in the video.
So he decided to test the hack.
“Alright I’ve got a Coke and a cup,” he said.
“I really hope this works, because I hate waiting 45 minutes for the fizz to stop.”
Following the steps, he placed the cup over the top of the unscrewed bottle of Coke, then flipped it over.
Bit by bit, he lifted the Coke bottle up so it would pour out slowly.
But there was no froth or fizz from the Coke — and the man was in disbelief.
“Wow,” he said, laughing.
‘A first for me’
Thousands of people took to the comments, with most sharing their disbelief over the new hack.
“You teach me so many things,” one person commented.
“Learn something new every day,” another wrote.
“Damn. I’m slightly older than you bro and this is a first for me. Awesome!” a third said.
“Wondering if it would work the same for beer?” someone asked.
‘Where have you been?’
But many people — mainly bartenders — have been using this hack for years, even for beers.
“Dudeeee ... where have you been? That’s the oldest trick in the book,” someone said.
“Every bar tender on the planet knows this,” another said.
Some people had other tips and tricks to “fight the fizz”.
“You could also tip the glass and pour along the side of it,” one bartender in the comment section said.
“You can also put your finger in the fizz. Does the same thing,” another suggested.
“Could just drink it out of a bottle...” suggested a third.
