The New Orleans Pelicans have split their first four games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the Warriors in a 124-106 loss last night. Zion Williamson led the team with 31 points on 12 of 19 shooting while Brandon Ingram added 30 points on 12 of 17 shooting, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Pelicans shot 54 percent from the field and nine of 22 from the 3-point line as they dominated the first quarter to take an early 20-point lead, but they never got any support from their role players which cost them in the second half where they got outscored by 77-55. CJ McCollum had a night to forget as he scored just five points on two of eight shooting in 31 minutes of action. The Pelicans will take on the Pacers and Hawks after this game.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in fine form as they’ve won three of their first four games overall and they will be eager to keep it going after routing the Pelicans last night. Buddy Hield led the team in scoring with 28 points on nine of 18 shooting, Lindy Waters added 21 points with eight rebounds and four assists off the bench while Brandin Podziemski chipped in with 19 points and five assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 47 percent from the field and an efficient 21 of 46 from the 3-point line as they scored just 14 points in the first quarter to fall behind by 20 points before they absolutely dominated the rest of the game to win comfortably in the end.

The Pelicans are still shorthanded with Dejounte Murray and Trey Murphy still out, while the Warriors have ruled out Stephen Curry and they are keeping an eye on Andrew Wiggins, who is currently listed as questionable. The Pelicans weren’t able to get the job done despite getting off to a flyer last night, so it’s tough to back them to get their revenge on zero days’ rest. The Warriors played great defense to overcome a slow start last night and I think they will be too good for the stumbling Pelicans once again. This one could go either way, but I am leaning towards the Warriors to get the win once again.
