‘Feeling for the paramedics’: Sinister find in Brisbane bushland slammed

WARNING: Distressing images.

A disturbing prank has come under fire after emergency services were called to the edge of bushland west of Brisbane, only to discover that an object hanging from a tree was no more than a bag of rubbish.

The long body-shaped bag of rubbish was tied to a tree with a noose, causing the Queensland local who found it initially to fear the worst.

Reports of “an object hanging from a tree” near Westminster Blvd in Doolandella were received by Queensland Police at 4.50pm on Monday, a Queensland Police spokesperson told in a statement.

“Upon arrival, officers were able to identify that the object was several stuffed plastic bags with a rope tied around it.”

“No further police action was required.”

The passerby, who spotted the hanging bags from a pathway, wrote on Reddit: “After the police and ambulance were called, it turned out to just be a large bag of rubbish. What exactly would be someone’s motive behind this?”

“Feeling for the paramedics who were first on scene and cannot imagine how confronting scenes like this must be for them.”
