Falcons - Eagles injury report for NFL week 2 Monday Night Football: Brown, Steen, and Landman
However, a major development arose on Saturday, as star wide receiver AJ Brown appeared on the Eagles’ injury report with a hamstring issue.
Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni provided an update on the team’s injury situation ahead of their Monday night game against the Falcons. According to Sirianni, wide receiver, A.J. Brown experienced hamstring tightness during Friday’s practice, resulting in limited participation, but then later ruled him out of the MNF Eagles lineup.
If Brown cannot play, Jahan Dotson, who the Eagles recently acquired, would be expected to take on a bigger role. Dotson has been working hard to integrate into the offense since joining the team in the off-season. He was used in motion in the Eagles’ Week 1 game and made no catches. However, Sirianni has expressed confidence in Dotson’s ability to step up if necessary. Apart from Dotson, the Eagles have other offensive weapons, such as DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert, who could potentially see increased targets if Brown is unavailable.
The team will monitor his condition over the weekend, and his availability for the upcoming game remains uncertain. Additionally, wide receiver Johnny Wilson missed practice due to a hamstring injury and is listed as questionable.
On a positive note, offensive lineman Tyler Steen is cleared to play on Monday night despite being added to the injury report with an ankle injury.
Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta’s Falcons have ruled out starting inside linebacker Nate Landman for the upcoming Game due to calf and quad injuries. Landman could not participate in practice throughout the week, indicating the severity of his injuries.
In addition, reserve nickel cornerback Antonio Hamilton has also been ruled out due to a groin injury.
Although he could practice in a limited capacity earlier in the week, he will not be available for the upcoming game.
Despite dealing with a groin injury, Kaleb McGary, who is starting right tackle, has been cleared and is expected to play on Monday night.
