Ex-Hoops Star Frozen Out at Brugge Ahead of Celtic Showdown
Dedryk Boyata doesn’t look set for a Celtic Park return when Club Brugge visits Glasgow in the Champions League next month.
He’s been having trouble with the Belgian side this season and has been relegated to training with the academy side. His absence from the first team is a clear indicator that his time at Club Brugge is ultimately over, especially with his contract winding down. [Gazet van Antwerpen]
There are a lot of Celtic fans who hold mixed opinions about the defender, especially given his exit. However, you can’t disagree that he was a solid defender for the Hoops, despite his few wobbles.
He’s found himself in a tricky position, aged 33, and will look to get back to playing regular minutes with another side as soon as he can with his playing days numbered.
The Belgian side Travels to Celtic Park on November 27th for matchday five of the Champions League. After the sides clash, Celtic will have three remaining Games to attempt to secure a place in the knockout rounds.
Having already faced, and beat, Slovan Bratislava, and now face trips to Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta before hosting German side Leipzig.
It’s then another home match, this time against Club Brugge, before Travelling to Zagreb, hosting Young Boys and then finishing their league campaign against Aston Villa in Birmingham.
