Ex-Celtic Winger Set to Miss Rangers Clash Amid Malmo Struggles
Rangers begin their Europa League campaign on Thursday, facing Malmo who might find themselves without Sead Haksabanovic, their summer signing from Celtic.
Despite high hopes, Haksabanovic has had a challenging start at his new club. After a cryptic social media post hinting at feeling undervalued, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers loaned him to Stoke City. Following his stint there, he was sold to Malmo.
However, his transition to Malmo hasn’t been smooth. The winger has seen limited action, appearing for just 26 minutes in league play and sitting out during their European qualifiers. [TransferMarkt]
His struggle with injuries has persisted, sidelining him for the recent matches. Given his current fitness concerns, it’s likely he will be absent for the upcoming Game against familiar opposition.
He came to Celtic with a lot of hype surrounding him and the Hoops managed to get a cut-price deal for him, due to the ongoing situation in Russia. However, the excitement quickly died, with it clear the winger wasn’t going to cut it at the Hoops.
After Ange Postecoglou left, some thought that the player would get another chance at Celtic, but it never worked out for him, with Brendan Rodgers not fancying him either. That social media post was the last straw.
