Elden Ring DLC Shadow Of The Erdtree Officially Unveiled
The mega best-selling, all-conquering, Game of the Year-winning FromSoftware title Elden Ring is getting its first major expansion. The announcement came via the official Elden Ring Twitter account. The upcoming Elden Ring expansion is known as Shadow of the Erdtree, and the unveiling came with some great looking art to tease what's coming ahead.
"Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together", the announcement reads, from the developers that birthed the Soulsborne genre into the world. "An upcoming expansion Shadow of the Erdtree is currently in development. We hope you look forward to new adventures in the Lands Between". Underneath, an image is supplied, one that Elden Ring fans are likely to pore over.
Elden Ring has been incredibly successful for FromSoftware, tipping the Japanese developer from a relatively small but highly regarded studio to mainstream concern as it topped bestseller lists around the world last year. A major expansion has been long sought after by its many fans and players. And while DLC has been previously introduced, in the form of the PvP mode, this new title is the major expansion many have been waiting for.
FromSoftware has not revealed much more beyond what you see above, but the image should lead to a great deal of speculation on forums and social media in the days ahead, while the developer may choose to drip out additional details. We will have to wait and see.
Over on forums and subreddits, Elden Ring fans are a very dedicated bunch, with many theories and lore excavations shared among the community, so there's bound to be some speculation as to the meanings, clues, and hints dropped in the supplied image. We'll be sure to have coverage of all that, but for the time being, while the news is fresh, simply have a drooling look at what Shadow of the Erdtree could be.
