This week, the DP World Tour returns to the golf schedule with the 2024 Soudal Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a Draftkings perspective.

Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament let’s review the Golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a Golfer’s success at this week’s 2024 Soudal Open.

Where will the Soudal Open be played?

The 2024 Soudal Open will be played at the Rinkven International Golf Club in Antwerp, Belgium. The golf course is a par 71 that measures approximately 6,940 yards.

2024 Soudal Open Draftkings Picks

Thomas Pieters $9,900

Thomas Pieters arrives at this week’s DP World Tour event on the heels of three consecutive top 14 finishes on the LIV Golf Tour, including an impressive fifth place result at the 2024 LIV Golf Singapore event three weeks ago.

Due to Thomas Pieters quality finish at the 2024 LIV Golf Singapore event I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the tournament to see how Pieters fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of competitive play at the 2024 LIV Golf Singapore event, in relation to the field, Thomas Pieters ranked 14th in GIR (greens in regulation-74.07%), third in scrambling (85.71%), and 18th in driving distance (307.4 yards).

Thomas Pieters has played well at this week’s DP World Tour event previously. Pieters finished ninth at the 2022 Soudal Open.

Bernd Wiesberger $9,600

The talented Austrian has accumulated four top 24 finishes in his last five events played (DP World and China Golf Tour), including a 16th place result at the 2024 Bahrain Championship in February.

Bernd Wiesberger certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Wiesberger is currently ranked second in GIR (greens in regulation-74.4%), 12th in overall scoring average (69.89), first in bogey avoidance (2.07), 12th in strokes gained on par fours (3.97), and third in strokes gained tee to green (1.81).

Paul Waring $8,300

Paul Waring arrives at this week’s tournament in rather good form. Let me be more specific. Waring has accumulated three top 29 finishes in his last five events played (DP World and China Golf Tours combined), including a third-place result at the 2024 China Open earlier this month.

Similar to Bernd Wiesberger, Paul Waring is playing some quality golf from a statistical perspective. Paul Waring is currently ranked tenth in bogey avoidance (2.37), third in strokes gained on par fours (3.95), 15th in GIR (greens in regulation-71.9%), and 11th in total birdies made per round (4.46).

Sam Bairstow $8,200

Sam Bairstow has accumulated four top 23 finishes in his last five tournaments played (DP World and China Golf Tours combined), including a third-place result at the 2024 Singapore Classic in March.

In my opinion, Sam Bairstow presents outstanding DFS value at a Draftkings price of $8,200.
