Draftkings Best RBC Canadian Open Second Round Picks 5/31/24

This Friday morning, Draftkings Golf fans will be presented with the second round of the RBC Canadian Open. Let’s take a look at the second round of this event from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections, let’s review where the second round of the RBC Canadian Open will be played.

The second round of the 2024 RBC Canadian Open will be played at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The Golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,084 yards.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the second round of the 2024 RBC Canadian Open.

Draftkings Second Round Showdown Picks

Cameron Young $9,600

The talented American has accumulated two top nine finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2024 Valspar Championship two months ago.

Cameron Young certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s 2024 RBC Canadian Open field, in the last 36 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Cameron Young ranks 16th in GIR (greens in regulation), 16th in strokes gained approach, 15th in strokes gained tee to green, and fourth in total Draftkings points scored.

For the reasons just noted, I expect Cameron Young to continue to his stellar play in tomorrow’s second round of the 2024 RBC Canadian Open.

Corey Conners $9,300

Corey Conners arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 26 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 13th place result at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship earlier this month.

Conners also finished sixth at the 2022 RBC Canadian Open.

Erik Van Rooyen $8,300

Since the beginning of January, Erik Van Rooyen has played 13 tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those 13 events just mentioned, Van Rooyen has accumulated six top 25 finishes, including an impressive second place result at the 2024 Classic in the Palm Beaches in March.

Upon the completion of this afternoon’s first round at the 2024 RBC Canadian Open, Erik Van Rooyen is currently tied for sixth place with a score of four under par.

Davis Thompson $8,200

The talented American has accumulated two top 18 finishes in his last three events played on the PGA Tour, including an 18th place result at the 2024 Corales Puntacana Championship in April.

Due to Davis Thompson’s quality finish at the Corales Puntacana Championship I decided to take a hard look at the player statistics for the event to see how Thompson fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of comPetitive play at the 2024 Corales Puntacana Championship, in relation to the field, Davis Thompson ranked 15th in birdie or better percentage, 15th in GIR (greens in regulation), 12th in strokes gained tee to green, and 17th in total Draftkings points scored.
