2024 RBC Canadian Open
May 30, 2024 8:00 am EDT

This week, the PGA Tour travels north of the border for the 2024 RBC Canadian Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a Draftkings perspective.

Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament let’s review the Golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a Golfer’s success at this week’s 2024 RBC Canadian Open.

Where will the RBC Canadian Open be played?

The 2024 RBC Canadian Open will be played at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 7,084 yards.

RBC Canadian Open Key Player Statistics

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green
  • Strokes Gained: Off the Tee
  • Bogey Avoidance
  • Stokes Gained: Around the Green
  • GIR (greens in regulation)
  • Strokes Gained: Putting
  • Strokes Gained: Par Fours

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

2024 RBC Canadian Open Draftkings Picks

Rory McIlroy $12,100

Since the beginning of March, Rory McIlroy has played eight tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those eight events just mentioned, McIlroy has accumulated seven top 22 finishes, including a win at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship three weeks ago.

Mcilroy certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s 2024 RBC Canadian Open field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Rory McIlroy ranks first in strokes gained off the tee, first in strokes gained tee to green, second in strokes gained approach, 15th in strokes gained around the green, first in birdie or better percentage, and first in bogey avoidance.

It should also be noted that Rory McIlroy has played well at the RBC Canadian Open previously. McIlroy won the RBC Canadian Open in 2019 and 2022. Based on the results just presented, I think it’s fair to say that Rory Mcilroy enjoys playing comPetitive Golf in Canada.

Alex Noren $8,500

Alex Noren arrives at this week’s event on the heels of eight consecutive top 24 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an 11th place result at the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open in March.

In relation to this week’s 2024 RBC Canadian Open field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Alex Noren ranks third in strokes gained around the green, third in strokes gained tee to green, 12th in strokes gained approach, and third in strokes gained on par fours.

Matt Wallace $7,600

The talented Englishman has accumulated three top 20 finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including a fourth-place result at the 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson earlier this month.

In relation to this week’s 2024 RBC Canadian Open field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Matt Wallace ranks fifth in strokes gained tee to green, sixth in strokes gained tee to green, second in bogey avoidance, and 17th in birdie or better percentage.

In my opinion, Matt Wallace presents the best fantasy value of any Golfer in this week’s tournament field at the affordable Draftkings price of only $7,600.

Additional Golfers I like to perform well this week (Draftkings price noted): Corey Conners $9,500: Adam Scott $9,000: Aaron Rai $8,900: Seamus Power $7,200: Davis Thompson $7,800: Doug Ghim $7,400: Kevin Tway $6,700.
