Delighted Kasper Schmeichel’s Sunday Afternoon Celtic Post
Kasper Schmeichel celebrated his second competitive start for Celtic, securing his second consecutive clean sheet as the Hoops defeated Hibernian 2-0 at Easter Road. The Danish keeper, who joined Celtic in the summer, has eased into his role as Celtic’s number one.
Schmeichel has benefited from a solid defensive line in front of him, with the backline doing an excellent job of limiting the opposition’s chances. This has allowed the experienced stopper to focus more on his distribution, keeping the ball moving and feeding it out quickly to launch attacks from the back.
After the Hibs match, Schmeichel took to social media to express his satisfaction with his start at the club, saying, “Two from two to kick things off.” It’s clear that the former Leicester City man is settling in well and growing more comfortable with each Game.
While he’s yet to face a barrage of shots, tougher tests undoubtedly lie ahead. However, his early performances will be encouraging for both fans and management, as they look forward to what he can bring to the team in the long run.
Next up for Celtic is a league cup clash against Hibs at home, where Schmeichel will aim to continue his strong start and perhaps add another clean sheet to his tally. With his confidence building, he looks ready to take on whatever challenges come his way in the upcoming fixtures.
