Cyberpunk 2077 didn't exactly launch in the state that many of us were expecting. From bugs to cut content, there were plenty of reasons to be disappointed with CDPR's shiny new IP. So unsurprisingly, the Game has since attracted a dedicated modding community.

Now, one of these fans has implemented a feature that was spotted in one of the E3 trailers, but never made it into the final Game. Thanks to Nexus Mods user KeanuWheeze, "smart windows" are available to use in the Game, adding a new interface to your apartment that lets you check the news and V's messages. It seamlessly fits into the aesthetic of the Game too, adding to the hellish futuristic vibe of V's home.

"This mod adds the smart window similar to the one in the 2018 E3 Demo, with interactive features and stock market integration," reads the mod's description.

That stock market integration refers to its compatibility with another mod we've covered in the past, that lets you invest in certain companies. The stock prices will even react to your actions in Night City, letting you play the market to benefit yourself. Pretty illegal, but I don't think anyone is really investigating corruption in the world of Cyberpunk.

Aside from that, the smart window will also let you access other features in your apartment, like the radio and your in-Game messages. Most importantly, it also just looks like something that would be released in the world of Cyberpunk, where style is everything.

It's not clear why the feature was dropped in the vanilla Game, because it was shown to be working in the 2018 Gameplay reveal. In this demo, the player even interacts with it, showing that it was in a functional state. However, with a notoriously messy development cycle, it's clear that some things had to go, and it was seemingly decided to ditch the whole smart window concept, for whatever reason. It has also been suggested that the E3 demo was less than honest, which likely plays a part in this.

If you want to try the mod out for yourself, you'll have to grab Cyberpunk 2077 on PC. Otherwise, it's available without mods on Xbox and PlayStation.
