Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi leads the line this afternoon against Hibernian at Easter Road.

The Japanese forward has impressed since joining the club in July 2021, seeing off comPetition from the likes of Albian Ajeti, Giorgos Giakoumakis, and Hyeon-Gyu Oh.

However, 2024 has proved to be a mixed bag for Kyogo, with one surprising statistic being that he has not scored an away goal in the SPFL this year.

This afternoon against David Gray’s side, Kyogo has an incredible chance to end this drought, with the Hibees coming off the back of a 3-0 defeat to St Mirren last weekend at The SMISA Stadium.

Despite all his great work last Sunday in Celtic’s resounding 4-0 win against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park, Kyogo did not manage to get on the scoresheet.

With today’s match away from home, the Japanese international will be more than aware of what he needs to do to end a disappointing period in the Scottish Premiership.

However, he appears to have finally fully adapted to Brendan Rodgers’ style of play, with his link-up play vastly improving.

This was evident last weekend and even during the 4-3 pre-season win against Manchester City in the United States, where he managed to get on the scoresheet.
