Cowboys go 3 and out on their first drive. Pollard got 5 yards and Blankenship covered Lamb to stop Prescott's pass to force a punt back to Philly.
GAME TIME!!
And we're off! The Eagles have won the toss and elected to defer. The Cowboys start us off on offense. Let's go!
Madden predicts Cowboys beat Eagles
Madden predicts a Cowboys 28-10 victory over their NFC East rivals.
That doesn't mean anything at all of course. Madden's predictions haven't been all that accurate so far this season.
Madden Cowboys predictions vs actual result:
Week 1: Madden predicted Cowboys beat Giants 23-20, Cowboys won 40-0
Week 2: Madden predicted Cowboys beat Jets 27-14, Cowboys won 30-10
Week 3: Madden predicted Cowboys beat Cardinals 14-7, Cowboys lost 28-16
Week 4: Madden predicted Cowboys beat Patriots 41-14, Cowboys won 38-3
Week 5: Madden predicted Cowboys beat Niners, 27-19, Cowboys lost 42-10
Week 6: Madden predicted Cowboys lose to Chargers, 21-17, Cowboys won 20-17
Week 8: Madden predicted Cowboys lose to Rams, 30-27, Cowboys won 43-20
To be fair, the Cowboys can be unpredictable and all over the place. A win over the Eagles is a tough ask, and as comfortable a win as Madden is predicting seems unlikely. But anything can happen in the NFL.
Hurts vs Prescott
Interestingly, we've only seen these two start against each other once before.
Lamb: a weapon of Dallas' own
The Eagles have their weapon in AJ Brown and the Cowboys have theirs in their own receiver, CeeDeeLamb. As they've started to get him the ball more, they've seen it pay off immediately. Against the Chargers, Lamb had seven receptions for 112 yards andagainsttheRamshe had 12 receptions for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
Last year against the Eagles, Lamb had 15 catches for 188 yards and two touchdowns. He could easily take advantage of a vulnerable Eagles defense, which has been switching out safeties and corners all season after a slew of injuries.
INACTIVES for Cowboys vs Eagles
The Eagles and Cowboys have released their list of inactives for today's game.
Philadelphia Eagles Inactives
- QB Tanner McKee
- CB Bradley Roby
- RB Boston Scott
- DT Moro Ojomo
- TE Grant Calcaterra
- DE Derek Barnett
Dallas Cowboys Inactives
- QB Trey Lance
- CB Noah Igbinoghene
- CB Eric Scott
- RB Deuce Vaughn
- WR Jalen Brooks
- DL Villiami Fehoko
Can the Cowboys stop AJ Brown?
Stopping Eagles wide receiver AJBrown is going to be key in the Cowboys upsetting Philly. He's had at LEAST 125 yards in the last six games and added eight grabs for 130 yards and two touchdowns in last week's win over the Commanders. He's been the Eagles' clutch player, making big plays in significant moments.
Since losing Trevon Diggs, the Cowboys have been counting on DaRon Bland to fill the cornerback position and he has delivered. He already has three interception returns for a touchdown this season. If he can make that kind of play against the Eagles and Micah Parsons can stop Jalen Hurts, the Cowboys might have a chance to stop Brown from making those big, difference-making plays.
What's the status on Jalen Hurts' knee injury??
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts might not want to talk about his knee injury, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
What he's dealing with (and has been for a month now) is a bone bruise, which could be a small fracture on the outer layer of the bone. While it must be painful, it doesn't seem to have affected him too much except for the fact that he's running less.
“If anything, he’s probably being smarter,” said Cowboys LB Parsons. “He’s sliding a lot more now, not trying to gain extra yards, just getting what he can, getting into manageable positions and things like that. He’s not trying to force out of sacks. He’s been playing really smart.”
NFC East battle
Today's NFC East rivalry Game is a battle between two of the best offenses in the league. The 7-1 Eagles host the 5-2 Cowboys, with both teams having won their last two Games and both teams looking to stay undefeated in the division.
Eagles offense...
Although Dallas has one of the best defenses in the league, they'll be put to the test against the Eagles offense. Wide receiver AJ Brown has had more than 125 receiving yards in six straight Games and running back D'Andre Swift is on the verge of a career record in rushing yards. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, however, has been struggling with interceptions this season, finally going one Game without throwing one since Week 4 last week. They are at the top of the NFC East and are at 7-1 with their only loss coming against the Jets of all teams, in Week 6.
vs Dallas defense
The Cowboys are at 5-2 after losing to the Cardinals and 49ers and are second in the division. They are coming off of a huge win against the Rams, in which they scored a season-high 43 points and quarterback Dak Prescott had his first 300+ yard game. The defense still ranks in the top five in points allowed per game, yards allowed per game, and total takeaways. They will need to stop Micah Parsons, who has eight tackles and two for a loss plus 0.5 quarterback sacks against the Eagles in just three games. DeMarcus Lawrence has three QB sacks, 10 QB hits, and 10 tackles for a loss in 16 games against the Eagles. If they want to win, it starts with getting past those two.
Hello everyone and welcome to our live coverage of the Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles!
The Game kicks off at 4:25 ET from Lincoln Financial Field as this NFC East battle heats up. We'll be here to bring you all the latest stats, scores, and commentary before, during, and after the Game.
