The Cleveland Guardians (35-17) and Los Angeles Angels (20-32) wrap up a 3-game series Sunday at Angel Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 4:07 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Guardians vs. Angels odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Guardians lead 4-1
The Guardians took the first 2 Games of this series. They won 4-3 Saturday as -142 favorites with RHP Tanner Bibee (6 IP, 3 ER) on the bump, and prevailed 10-4 Friday as slight -104 underdogs with LHP Logan Allen (5 2/3 IP, 3 ER) recording the win. The Over and Under split in the first 2 Games.
Cleveland has won 4 in a row in this season series since Los Angeles won 6-0 at Progressive Field back on May 3 as a heavy underdog (+188). The Under holds a 3-2 edge in the 5 games this season, while going 7-3 in the past 10 head-to-head meetings since May 14, 2023.
Cleveland is looking for its 3rd straight series sweep. The Guardians have won 8 games in a row since May 17, sweeping 3-game sets against the Minnesota Twins (May 17-19) and the New York Mets (May 20-22) and taking the first 2 games in L.A. Cleveland also is looking for its 2nd road sweep of the season. The first one came in a 2-game set at Minnesota April 4-6 — originally a 3-game series, one game was postponed due to weather.
The Angels have dropped 3 of the past 4 Games, and they’re just 1-5 in the past 6 outings at home since May 12. Even if they win Sunday, the Halos are guaranteed to lose this series. They have lost all 8 of their home series this season, including this one vs. the Guardians.

Guardians at Angels picks and predictions
Prediction
Guardians 5, Angels 4
Moneyline
The GUARDIANS (-120) are worth a roll of the dice in the series finale as they look to cap off the 3-game sweep and win for the 9th consecutive outing.
Cleveland continues to surprise, and it should get the job done against Detmers, the shaky southpaw going for the Angels (+100). Cleveland is 9-2 vs. left-handed pitchers this season.
Run line/Against the spread
The Angels +1.5 (-165) are a little on the pricey side if you’re looking for some insurance and just cannot bring yourself to back the red-hot Guardians -1.5 (+135) for some reason.
The best bet in this game is playing Cleveland straight up on the moneyline.
PASS.
Over/Under
OVER 8.5 (-115) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at best.
Detmers has a rather high ERA at 5.80, and it’s even worse at home at 6.55 in his 5 starts at Angel Stadium.
For the Guardians, Lively has been a nice surprise, but he has been a little more giving on the road, rather than at home. We should get to at least 9 combined runs.
