Stanford Cardinal Betting Preview

Stanford’s 2024 campaign opened up with a home matchup versus TCU. The Cardinal ended up taking a tough 34-27 loss in that one despite a halftime lead of seven points. Game two went much better; that one was a 41-7 blowout win over Cal Poly.

Last Friday versus Syracuse, the Cardinal managed to put up points in every quarter on the way to a tight win 26-24. QB Ashton Daniels finished with 178 yards, one TD and two interceptions. Elic Ayomanor caught seven balls for 87 yards and a score.

Clemson Tigers Betting Preview

Over on the Tigers’ side, they had a tough opener draw against a great Georgia team. Clemson couldn’t find the end zone in that one, ultimately falling in a 34-3 blowout. The Tigers got into the win column the next weekend though, beating Appalachian State 66-20.

Matched up against NC State on Saturday, the Tigers jumped out to a 45-7 edge by halftime and rolled to the win 59-35. Cade Klubnik put up 209 pass yards and three scores. Phil Mafah rushed seven times for 107 yards and a TD to lead the running attack.

Clemson vs Stanford Prediction

I’ll take Clemson in this one, even though the line is pretty hefty. The Tigers posted a pretty dominant effort versus NC State over the weekend. Clemson finished with 523 total yards (269 rushing), 7.8 yards per play and 24 first downs. The only real blemish was a tepid 3-of-10 rate on third-down conversions, but it hardly mattered on the scoreboard.

As for Stanford, they get credit for gutting out a close win over the Orange. The Cardinal had a couple of turnovers and posted just 178 yards through the air but they escaped with the victory. This weekend will be another tough test and I don’t think Stanford will cover.
