The Toronto Blue Jays and the Chicago White Sox meet Monday in MLB action from Guaranteed Rate Field. Here’s a Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

The Blue Jays played the Detroit Tigers in their weekend series. Toronto won Thursday 9-1 but then dropped the next pair 6-2 and 2-1. In the Sunday finale the Jays took a wild 14-11 loss. Starter Yusei Kikuchi left after just 3.0 innings, five earned and eight hits.

As starting pitcher for Monday’s matchup the Blue Jays will send out Chris Bassitt. This year Bassitt is 4-6 with a 4.39 ERA and 49 Ks in 55.1 innings over 10 starts. Bassitt is 66-48 with a 3.54 ERA in 179 Games (166 starts) over his career. The Blue Jays will meet the Pirates, Orioles, A’s, and Brewers after this series.

Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

Over on the White Sox’ side, they took on the Baltimore Orioles in their last set. Chicago had some troubles in that series, losing 8-6, 6-4 and 5-3 in the first trio. On Sunday in the finale the White Sox took a 4-1 loss. Garrett Crochet posted 6.0 innings in the start with two earned on three hits and a walk with 11 Ks.

In the starter slot Monday the White Sox will send out Nick Nastrini. Over his three starts this year (the first three of his MLB career) Nastrini is 0-3 with a 11.91 ERA and eight strikeouts in 11.1 innings.

Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’ll go with the Blue Jays. Probably not touching this one, though; the line’s too thick to mess with anyway. Toronto should have some opportunities against Nastrini if he can’t get going. Over his last two outings combined Nastrini is 0-2 with 13 earned runs on 13 hits and 11 walks in just 6.1 innings. As for Bassitt, he’s given up five earned runs over 19.0 innings across his last three starts.

On Sunday the Blue Jays posted 14 team hits—and gave up 17—in a pretty crazy Game. Toronto’s bullpen really struggled (as did Kikuchi); Erik Swanson was the only pitcher who didn’t give up at least one earned. Toronto needs a good bounce-back for Monday’s Game, obviously.
