Celtic Could be Set for £11m Winter Cash Boost
Celtic could be in line for a significant financial windfall this winter if a potential transfer involving former player Jeremie Frimpong goes through.
According to reports from Foot Mercato, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the Netherlands international, currently at Bayer Leverkusen.
With Chelsea reportedly considering a £50 million bid, Celtic stands to gain 30% of the profit from the transfer fee due to a sell-on clause from when they sold Frimpong to Leverkusen.
This arrangement could net Celtic around £11 million.
Celtic have already posted their accounts which show that the club already have £77 million in the bank, and are in a great place on the pitch too.
The club are set to make some good money this season, too, with the Champions League format revamped and having already picked up a win, which banks some extra cash.
It’s a good time to be a Celtic fan, with the team dominating the league, off to a good start in the Champions League and having the league cup quarter-finals this weekend.
Falkirk will be no easy task for the Hoops, avoiding defeat for 43 Games under McGlynn. The Bairns will look to take advantage of what will likely be a heavily rotated Celtic team.
