Celtic AGM: Rod Stewart’s Contribution Highlighted Amid Investment Question

During the Celtic AGM today, a fan suggested that rock legend and Celtic supporter Rod Stewart should consider investing in the club.

The comment sparked laughter in the room, with Celtic Chairman Peter Lawwell addressing the suggestion with a mix of humour and respect.

While Lawwell jokingly acknowledged Stewart’s reputed frugality, he was quick to highlight the singer’s significant contributions to the club over the years.

Stewart is a well-known supporter of the Celtic FC Foundation, regularly donating to charitable initiatives and playing an active role behind the scenes. He often does appearances for the charity too, whether it be in the UK or America.

Lawwell noted that Stewart’s generosity is second to none, emphasising that his efforts for the Foundation and other causes have been invaluable. However, he expressed doubt about whether the singer would be interested in the complexities of investing directly in a Football club.

Stewart frequently attends matches, participates in club events, and uses his platform to promote the team. While he may not be writing cheques to fund transfers, his iNFLuence and support remain an important part of the Celtic community.

And, it’s not as if the club is needing that extra investment at the moment.
